Guide
The easy, hygienic way to use a water jug
A 19 L bottle is heavy; the right equipment makes it easier to use and protects the hygiene of the water. Girne Su offers hot and cold dispensers, rechargeable electric pumps and manual pumps for homes and offices. You can add any of them to your jug order on the online order form.
Which equipment should you choose?
- Hot and cold dispenser: The most comfortable solution for offices, larger households and places that host guests. Cold water keeps you refreshed in the summer heat, and hot water lets you make tea and coffee without waiting. In homes with children, make sure the hot tap has a safety lock.
- Rechargeable electric pump: Fits onto the neck of the bottle and dispenses water at the touch of a button. It takes up little counter space and runs on battery without a socket, which makes it handy for kitchens, boats and caravans.
- Manual pump: A simple, economical press pump that needs no electricity. Ideal as a spare or for camping and holiday homes.
For offices and high-consumption businesses we also offer dispenser rental and maintenance; request a quote for details.
Cleaning and maintenance matter as much as the water
Water that leaves our plant lab-tested can lose its fresh taste in a dispenser or pump that is not kept clean. Our recommendations:
- Wipe the bottle neck and the dispenser seat with a clean cloth whenever you change bottles.
- Clean the dispenser's internal reservoir and taps following the manufacturer's instructions, usually every 3–6 months, with a food-safe cleaner.
- Rinse the pump tube and spout at every bottle change and clean them regularly with a food-safe solution.
- Do not place the dispenser in a sunny window or next to a heat source.
Placement and safe use
Put the dispenser on a flat, stable surface a few centimetres from the wall; leaving air space behind it improves cooling. Keep the power cable and plug away from water. When fitting a bottle, remove the cap label and turn the bottle over in a single, controlled movement.
If you drink water regularly, you can receive your jugs automatically with a subscription. The areas we deliver to are on our delivery areas page, and the latest water analysis is on our Water Quality page.
Frequently asked
How often should a dispenser be cleaned?
Wipe the exterior and taps weekly, and clean the internal reservoir with a food-safe cleaner, usually every 3–6 months according to the manufacturer. We offer scheduled maintenance for business customers.
How long does a rechargeable pump last per charge?
Depending on use, a single charge typically lasts for several bottles. Battery and charging details are listed in the product specifications.
Do the pumps fit every bottle?
Our pumps are chosen to fit standard-neck 19 L bottles and our 10 L and 5 L PET jugs. Neck sizes can differ on other brands, so fit cannot be guaranteed.
Can I rent a dispenser for my office?
Yes. We offer dispenser rental and scheduled maintenance to offices and businesses that buy jugs regularly. Just share your headcount on the quote form.
